John Garland

John has been actively involved in real estate and commerce in the Australasian region for over 25 years.

During this time he has worked with the International agency Chesterton International in commercial sales and leasing and more recently as a director with his family’s real estate business, Garland International, which specializes in foreign investment in Australian property and businesses.

In 2012 John created Merchant Realty to focus on consultancy work and an incorporated funds management company, the 888Fund, which is directly associated with high net worth Chinese investors migrating to Australia. From a development perspective John has recently completed a land subdivision and villa development, in the Bali region of Indonesia.

John holds an MBA from Edith Cowan University, majoring in International Business and Finance in addition to degrees in Real Estate Management and practice.

With respect to professional organizations, John is a consultant to the National Trust of Australia (WA). John is an Australian Vice President of FIABCI Australia (International Real Estate Organization). A member of the Australia China Business Council (ACBC) and has also been a long standing committee member of the Real Estate Institute of Western Australia’s, Rural Chapter.
